HOMERS FOR HOPE
HITTING HOMERS FOR FAMILIES IN NEED
At Homers for Hope our mission is simple: Hit Homers for families in need. The proceeds from our events are used to pay the everyday household bills for families suffering from a tragic event or illness.
We encourage you to take some time to read our story and find out what inspired our cause. Hopefully understanding what we do and how we’ve helped our community and loved ones will encourage you to lend a helping hand that others need so desperately.
The families we help are just like you and me. They are working individuals that by no fault of their own, have run into extreme circumstances. For example, our inspiration, Rip Roscioli, died tragically at the age of 30, leaving behind his wife and 9 year old son who has a medical condition. Rip loved baseball. Both playing and coaching the younger guys. Rip was always there for his friends and frequently put others ahead of himself. Rip’s wife was now faced with the extreme financial challenge of how to provide the care needed for her son while just keeping up with basic life necessities. With the help of several friends raising money through a home-run derby, she did receive some financial assistance.
At Homers for Hope, we realize that like Rip, there are other families out there with similar stories, where a few extra dollars per month to help pay the bills, keep food on the table, and a roof over their heads, would be the helping hand they need. These tragedies could happen to anyone and Homers for Hope is the only organization who strives to get them back on track. Because of Rip and his love for baseball, Homers for Hope was founded to carry on Rip’s spirit by working with athletes. Not only do we aim to teach them the importance of giving back to their community and fundraising, but we also teach them to have fun and continue growing their athletic skill sets.
