MEET THE BRILL FAMILY

David and Traci Brill are amazing people and a living example of “Love your neighbor”. They are incredibly kind and caring; oftentimes unselfishly putting the needs of others above their own. Traci is a Registered Nurse who provides exceptional care to her patients and their loved ones. David was a busy independent contractor & soccer coach to two of their boys teams & has always been willing to help anyone in need.

They are raising their 3 boys, Derek age 19, Tyler age 17, and Evan age 15, to be the same amazingly caring people. Evan was born severely handicapped and requires 24-hour care. This family has forged through many obstacles and have handled their circumstances with grace & gratitude.

On June 12, 2018, David tragically fell off a roof while at work, sustaining a severe brain injury. He spent 2 months in ICU and during that time, had 3 brain surgeries & suffered many complications due to his injury. He was trached, ventilator-dependent & tube fed. He lost the ability to talk or move the right side of his body. He then was moved to a rehab facility where he spent an additional 2 months receiving intensive therapy. Since returning home, David continues to do outpatient therapy but still has both receptive & expressive aphasia making communication very difficult at times. He also is now legally blind, hearing impaired, has seizures & difficulty controlling his emotions at times due to his injury.

His construction business had to be closed down and even though he does receive disability, it is maybe only a third of what he used to make being the main breadwinner of his family. If you would like to join the effort to help them by raising money, or participating in the Lancaster PA Home Run Derby on November 6th, 2021, at 4 PM.
