Mary Conboy’s oldest son, Adam Conboy, was killed on May 12, 2006 in active duty in Iraq. One of his last wishes was that his troop would have new, clean bed sheets. This inspired Mary to create “Operation Bedding”. On December 26, 2010, the Conboys were struck with more tragic news that their daughter Meagan, who at that time was a senior at J. W. Hallahan High School in Philadelphia, had been diagnosed with Lymphoma. Mary had to remove herself from the workforce in order to care for her daughter.
