MEET THE KRYSKO FAMILY

The Krysko’s are a family of four from Warminster, PA; Nick and Rebecca with sons Dylan (9) and Dominick (14). Dylan is currently in the 4th grade and loves all things to do with sports and playing them. Basketball is his favorite, Football falling right behind it. He loves to sing and dance and especially loves making people smile. He is a goofball that likes to have fun.

But on April 6th 2018, Dylan’s pediatrician noticed something off at his yearly well visit. The family was sent to CHOP for additional tests. After several tests, followed by
2 surgeries, Dylan was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma – a cancerous brain tumor. In addition, Dylan was diagnosed with Posterior Fossa Syndrome, which severely weakens motor skills. Dylan lost the ability to walk from these combined issues, and has a long road ahead to recovery.

In late 2018, Dylan went through radiation and chemotherapy to kill all remaining cancerous cells. He is currently doing physical, occupational, and speech therapies in an effort to gain back his strength. He’s working hard to walk again so he can get back on that basketball court, and through all of this he still does everything with a smile on his face to show the world that he is Dylan Strong!

The Homers for Hope Yankees summer baseball team will be fundraising on behalf of the Krysko family, as the inaugural beneficiaries of the John D Schilling II Memorial Fund, dedicated to helping families who have suffered a traumatic brain injury.
